night is a bustling array of neon lights, pubs,
clubs, bars, discoteques, and small shops. Walking
Street in Pattaya, provides visitors with total
sensory, stimulation. As sunset approaches, the
street sparks to life with throngs of tourist,
locals, and a deluge of unique characters, that you
probably just have to see to believe.
There are plenty of places to catch a quick bite to
eat or to enjoy a cold drink and do some people
watching. Numerous entertainment venues, many of
which have live bands performing into the early
morning hours, line this exciting and unique
thoroughfare.
Additionally, a myriad of shops sell just about
anything you can think of, from small decorative
items to large stuffed replicas of Mickey Mouse.
At dusk Walking street comes
alive. First the street vendors set up their food
stalls. Then the workers arrive. Thousands of bar
staff, waitresses and of course the girls who work
in the bars and go-go bars that have made Pattaya
into a unque holiday destination. The come the
tourists. A motley mix of guys out on the town,
couples strolling along looking for a good place for
dinner. Last but not least nowadays see droves of
mainly Asian tourists arriving by the busloads
cameras and camcorders in hand to capture this most
strange of tourist attractions. Walking Street Pattaya is most
lively in the evening hours and
the entertainment venues,
although supposed to close at 2AM are often to be
found emptying their clientelle onto the streets as
dawn breaks. So
enjoy the sights and sounds of Pattaya Walking
Street but it's probably best to put
the kids to bed before venturing out into this
entertaining area.
